G\u00e1bor Hollerung (Budapest, 18 August 1954 \u2013) Liszt Ferenc Prize winning conductor, chorus master; Meritorious Artist of Hungary; Executive Music Director of Budafok Dohn\u00e1nyi Ern\u0151 Symphonic Orchestra; master conductor of Budapest Academic Choral Society; Arts Director of Zempl\u00e9n Festival; founder and Art Director of the Budapest International Choir Competition.<\/p>\n

Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n

Studied at Liszt Ferenc College of Music, specialized as chorus master (1972-77) and conductor (1975-80).<\/p>\n

Here his professors were Zolt\u00e1n V\u00e1s\u00e1rhelyi, Istv\u00e1n P\u00e1rkai and Andr\u00e1s K\u00f3rodi. He did further training in master courses led by Eric Ericson (1975), Kurt Masur (1978) and L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Somogyi (1981).<\/p>\n

In Hungary<\/strong><\/p>\n

1979\u201381: second conductor of Miskolc Symphonic Orchestra. Master conductor (since 1989), Executive Music Director (since 2001) of Budafok Dohn\u00e1nyi Orchestra. Conducted several Hungarian orchestras as guest conductor.<\/p>\n

Abroad<\/strong><\/p>\n

2002\u20132005: first guest conductor of Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n

2002\u00ac2007: musical consultant for Philharmonia Singers, Tel Aviv. In addition to playing concerts with a great number of European orchestras, he has been guest conductor for Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Cincinatti Symphony Orchestra, Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestra Taiwan.<\/p>\n
